SreNarayana Guru was born in a Society where Discrimination against the lower caste was practiced. Gurudeva fought against this discrimination after his Spiritual loftiness. He put forward the most popular ideal of universal validity “One caste, One religion and one God for Man”. His Spiritual writings were published in 3 languages, Malayalam, Tamil, and Sanskrit. Atmopadesa Satakam, the one hundred versus of Spiritual teachings, is a very famous work of the Social reformer Sree Narayana Gurudeva. It is considered as second bhagavat gita in Malayalam. Sri narayana guru wrote this in 1897 during his stay at Aruvipuram. The wordings are in simple and beautiful Malayalam understood by common people, not included any Sanskrit words. The wordings are simple but enriched with vedantic meanings. His Atmopadesa Satakam translated to English by Nataraja named as “Centiloquy of the self”. In this text Guru says whatever one does for self happiness should lead to the happiness of others.
