Energy body or Aura
The idea of a human aura, a radiating luminous cloud surrounding the human body, is an ancient one. It was well known and considered as divine in India, Egypt, and Rome etc before Christianity. For centuries it is believed that the yogis (clairvoyant people) could actually see an aura around people and this is different from person to person in color, character expressing the health, character, spiritual growth of the subject.
W.J Kilner, The human Aura
Yogis (clairvoyants), persons with psychic powers, have observed that every person is surrounded and interpenetrated by a luminous energy body called the bioplasmic body. Just like the visible physical body, it has a head, two eyes, arms, etc. The energy body looks like the visible body. So it is called the etheric double.
Bioplasmic body is a living energy body made up of invisible subtle matter or etheric matter. Science with use of Kirlian photography has rediscovered the energy body. With the aid of this photography scientist have been able to observe, study, and take pictures objects. It is through the energy body prana or life force is absorbed and distributed throughout the whole physical body.
This energy body interpenetrates the physical body and extends beyond it by four to five inches in normal human beings and in yogis or spiritually developed persons its volume increases. In Avatars (Visible form of the Supreme Being) like Sri Matha Amritanandamayi devi the aura extent to unpredictable level.

It is observed that this energy body has three levels 1, the inner aura 2, health rays 3, and outer aura. The energy field which follows the contour of the visible body is the inner aura. From the surface of physical body bioplasmic rays projecting perpendicularly out known as health rays which interpenetrates the inner aura and this rays totally known as health aura. Length is 2 or 3feet. Beyond the health aura is outer aura and this outer aura interpenetrates the inner and health aura and extend beyond the physical body up to 1meter in normal people. The whole aura body is multicolored and shaped as inverted egg. From person to person this aura field varies according to physical, emotional, spiritual states of individuals. In some sick persons it is observed that the outer aura has holes from which prana leaks out. Sick persons are observed to have weak health rays with shorter length. It is observed in sick person’s aura there will be a prana depletion at the affected parts. For example for a person with heart problems, there will be an energy depletion or congestion at the Heart chakra part. The more severe is the illness the lesser is the aura. Excess prana at a local area can also cause illness. For eg; I had a severe breathing problem feeling a strong pressure over my diaphragm, it increases at the midnight making unable to sleep. It was a problem related to Manipuraka chakra. A Pranic congestion at this area caused the diaphragm paralyzed sometimes and it made breathing uncomfortable. Through pranic healing this problem was solved. Normally in depletion or congestion occurs the nadis are blocked causing the prana unable to move in and out the affected part. Yogis with psychic powers see these affected areas as dark grey in color, according to the illness the color varies
Nadis or Bioplasmic channels
Just as the physical body has blood vessels through which the blood flows, the energy body has fine invisible channels also known as meridians through which the prana moves and distributed whole over the body. There are several major and minor meridians in the energy body. In yoga these are known as major and minor nadis. The three major nadis are IDA, PINGALA and SUSHUMNA. In yoga ‘Nadhishuddhi pranayama’ is intend to refresh and clean these Channels.
