Lord hanuman is the most beloved devotee of Avatar Sri Ramachandra. Hanuman chalisa is a devotional song of Lord Hanuman composed by Sri Goswami Tulasidas, who was a mahakavi (great poet) and devotee of lord Rama. Chalisa means chalis in hindi which means 40, thus there are 40 versus in this song. Tulsidas wrote this during his imprisonment in Delhi by the mughal king Akbar. Whoever chants with total bhakti and dedication to lord hanuman will get hanumans grace for sure. In northern India this chalisa is very famous among devotees. Devotees believe it is very effective to bring hanumans grace, especially in problems regarding evil spirits as claimed in the poem. This is written in Awadhi language.
