He was called by njanavatar(divine incarnation of wisdom) by Yogananda. In his autobiography Yogananda has given a detail story about the Christlike lives of the three great masters his Guru Sriyukteswara giri, sri yukteswara giris Guru Sri Lahiri Mahasaya and the holy gurudeva of Lahiri Mahasaya Sri Mahavatar Babaji. Mahavatar Babaji inspired Sriyukteswara to write the book ‘The Holy Science’. Sri yukteswara had a clear vision on the underlying unity of all scriptures of Sanadana dharma and Christianity. He was able to dissect them with the scalpel of intuitive reasoning and able to separate the wrong interpretations of scholars from the truth as originally given by the true spiritual masters.
The purpose of this book is to show the real unity underlying all religions, There is no difference in the truth teach by different religions, the goal admitted by all scriptures is the same. It is the ignorance existing in man make him almost impossible to see the underlying unity.
