Saraswati Puja, also spelt as Saraswathi Pooja, is observed on Basant Panchami day. Saraswati Puja 2012 date is January 28. This festival is observed with lot of gusto in Bengal, Orissa and other Eastern regions of India. Saraswati puja day marks the beginning of Basant rithu (spring season). It falls on Shukla Paksha Panchami in Magh Month. It is also known as Shri Panchami or Saraswati Panchami.
