About Vedamantram
"The Veda emanated from God Himself as inhalation and exhalation..."
Sai Baba
vEda literally means Knowledge. The audio files in the following links present you the Knowledge as discovered by the vEdic R^iShis (Seers). shruti (right intonation) is extremely important for the recitation of the vEda . Please do not attempt to learn the mantras from the audio without the guidance of a qualified guru, since a mantra by definition should only be recited according to the right shruti . However, feel free to learn the stotras as they are not bound by shruti . The vEda mantras have been passed down orally for more than 6000 years without any change, either in their intonation or the content. The vEdas are the basis for the world's oldest and continuous civilization arising out of bhAratavarSha (India).

vEda dhvani (Sound of the vEda ) gives peace of mind when listened with reverence and renders the mind fit for contemplation. Please listen to these very sacred mantras with a clean body and a pure mind to enhance your spiritual progress.

Note: We have followed the ITrans scheme to transliterate Samskrita words in English letters to accurately represent Samskrita letters.

"Vetthi ithi Veddah" ; Knowing knowledge is Veda", That is to say, man can know from Vedas, the code of right activitiy and the body of right knowledge. The Vedas teach man his duties from birth to death. They describe his rights and duties, obligations and responsibilities in all stages of life- as a student,
householder, recluse and monk. In order to make plain the Vedic dicta and axioms and enable all to understand the meaning and purpose of the do's and dont's, the Vedangas, Puranas and Epic texts appeared in course of time."
- Sri Sathya Sai Baba
