What complete breathing is?
Before practicing pranayama one should know what complete breathing is. It is well known that only 1/6th of the capacity of lungs is generally used. There are four types of breathing 1, high 2, middle 3, abdominal 4, complete. When breathing is done by upper part of the lungs by slowly lifting the color bone and shoulders, it strengthens the hilar lymph nodes in the lungs and fills air at the tip of lungs.

The middle portion of lungs is used by extending ribs on both sides when air is inhaled. It takes away the pressure from the heart and supplies blood to the liver, gall bladder, spleen and kidneys.
Abdominal breathing is done when abdominal wall is raised and lowered while breathing in and out. This natural movement regulates intestinal activity, a child breathes in this way, so this is a natural way of breathing.
Now the full yogic breath is taken first by expanding the abdomen and then the ribs (middle part of the chest) and finally raising the collar-shoulder bone for inhalation. For exhalation, first the abdomen is drawn, then contract the chest ribs and, in the end lower, the collar bone and shoulder for exhaling the remaining air. This type of breathing is known as yogic breathing. Practicing it at daily morning in fresh air keeps the blood purified from all impurities, stimulates metabolism and invigorates the whole body.
