Bhadrapad Month (Bhadra Mahina, Bhadrapada Masam), is the 6th month of Hindu calendar followed in North India, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. In 2011 Bhadrapad month begins on August 13 and ends on September 12 as per North Indian Hindu calendars. According to Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada Panchangam, Bhadrapada masa begins on August 30 and ends on September 27. Bhadra month is also called as Bhadon month as per Nanakshahi Sikh calendar.

In Bhadrapad month as per North Indian calendars, Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Rushi Panchami, Varaha Jayanti and Anant Chaturdashi are the mainfestivals. And as per the panchangs of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat, the important festivals celebrated during Bhadrapad month are – Vinayaka Chavithi, Rishi Panchami, Vamana Jayanthi and Ananta Chaturdasi.
