Salt Lake FD Block Puja Committee – Theme is huge Durga Murti
The pandal and the 14.5 meter long murti are made out of environment friendly items. This is the tallest Durga idol in 2011.
Dum Dum Tarun Sangha – Flute and Hand held cymbals
The pandal is made from bansi (flute) and Mandira (Hand-held cymbals). Nearly 80,000 flutes are being used to make the pandal. The cymbals weigh around 4,500 kg.
Ahirtola Sangya – Victory of Good over Evil
Durga demolishing Mahishasura and the other demons form part of this Pandal.
Naktala Udayan Sangha – Flying Bird.
The pandal is in the shape of a flying bird and symbolize the flight of human mind.
Purbachal Shakti Sangha – Children
The pandal captures the imaginary world for children.
Telengabagan – Kolabau
The pandal reconstructs the nine types of trees that represent that nine images of Durga. Durga murti here is based on the Shibpuri woodcut painting. A highlight of the pandal is a water body with a tower of desire.
Dum Dum Park Yuvakbrinda – Sun and Space
At the pandal a 45-feet high egg is the main attraction. The outer shell is made of mirrors the yold inside is yellowish. Hundreds of paintings inside the pandal show children floating in empty space.
Lake Town Adhibasibrinda – Theme around trees
The entire theme in this pandal revolves around tree. Shadows of human beings are also depites as trees.
